The fifth edition of the Watoto Wasoka camp is set to run from 28th December 2016 to 3rd January 2017 in Kayunga.
Over 2,000 boys and girls spread in about 120 teams are expected to grace the week long youth football bonanza.
All the participants will reside at the premises of Namagabi SS and play at the school and nearby.
“We will start the Christmas Camp with screening of the players on the 28th December 2016,” a statement from the organizers partly reads.
“The games will kick‐off on the morning of 29 the December and the opening ceremony thereafter.”
“On the 31st December 2016, we will do a community clean up around Kayunga Town before the games can start. We will end the day, and the year with a camp fire.”
Watoto Wasoka select team will then face the locals from Kayunga on New Year’s Day in a Charity match, the same day the girls arrive in camp. The girls’ tournament will take place on 2nd and 3rd January.
The participants will also involve in workshops ranging on a variety of topics including WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), character building and sports for development.
