“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world.”
1 John 4:17
Do you know who you are? What is your worth here on earth? Do you fully understand the weight in being called a Christian? Beloved, it is not a light thing to be addressed as a Christian. But unfortunately, we have Christians who are even ashamed of introducing themselves as Christians. There are believers who have reduced their worth and value to the value of cars and houses and as a result, they are working to attain a premium house and a posh car to emphasize their image. This is good but it does not and must not determine your image in Christ Jesus. Your image in Christ is affluent enough to attract the most sumptuous house in the world and the most au courant car in the world market.
Voltaire the Philosopher said, “Don’t think money does everything or you are going to end up doing everything for money.” The Queen of England owns all the money in England, and the Kabaka (king) of Buganda owns all the money in Buganda, because she is the queen and he is the kabaka respectively. Their image determine their worth and value. You believer in Christ owns everything on earth, because you are a priest and king unto our God (Revelations 5:10). It is possible for a man to own millions of dollars and deluxe estates on earth yet still suffer from identity crisis and die unfulfilled in his lifetime. Child of God, work harder to know who you are and don’t forget that image. Knowing who you are is the sole source of fulfillment and the first step to success. You are not any man’s duplicate: you are unique and wonderful in all your make up.
Acts 17:28 says, “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.” The true identity of yourself is derived from Christ: this Christ-identity determines how far you can go in life and how much you can achieve in this life and the life to come. By knowing who you are in Christ, you will also know that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you, you will also know that you can become whatever you want to become. There are no limitations in Christ, no failures in Christ, no regrets in Christ and no lonesomeness, but you are endowed with power to succeed, company to encourage you, and grace to turn all your mistakes as stepping stones to bring you good.
If you who is reading this devotion is saved, then rejoice my brother or my sister because your Salvation decision is the best decision you ever made and everything that happens to you or will happen to you, is on the basis of this foundation. As Believers there is no need to worry about success, because your success is guaranteed. But if you are not yet saved, the truth is this: you still don’t know who you are, you need Christ who will give you an image.
I Love You!
