“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Whenever we talk about fruits, we are indirectly talking about seeds too. When you plant a mango seed to the ground, it is only a matter time when you will eat mango fruits thereof. The bible says in 1 John 3: 9 that, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and He cannot sin, because He is born of God.” Whereas mango fruits are produced by mango seeds, the fruit of the Holy Spirit is produced by the seed of the Holy Spirit.
All a born again man needs to do in order to manifest the Holy Spirit’s fruit of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, and temperance, is to remain rooted in the word of God. Jesus is the word of God. And the Holy Spirit and the word of God are inseparable. Infact Apostle Peter in 1 Peter 1:23 says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” The word of God birthed us who are born again with an incorruptible seed. This seed is the Holy Spirit, who also determines what kind of Fruit we produce.
You cannot teach man to love, to be joyful, to be patient or even to have self-control. All the listed fruits of Holy Spirit cannot be taught on the flesh – you do not need to burden the flesh to love or to be self-controlled. It is foreign to the carnal man. Teach a carnal man the way of the Spirit: how to receive the Holy Spirit and how to continually live in the Spirit, and you will see him love with ease, exhibit joy subconsciously, and he will be self-controlled with great simplicity.
In conclusion, a born again believer is a spirit being who must be taught from the inside-out and not from the outside-in. To teach a believer, teach him Christ and the impact of the Holy Spirit in him. Christ and the Holy Spirit will work inside him, and we shall in turn see the work of Christ in him through his speech and conducts. But for as long as we cannot yet see Christ vividly revealed in his speech and conducts, let us continue to teach him Christ until Christ be fully formed in him. But remember! It is the seed that produces fruits i.e. It is the Holy Spirit who frames believers’ speech and conducts.
I Love You!
