THE MYSTERY OF THE SECRET PLACE Part 1
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
Today, marks the beginning of this very important topic, The Mystery of the Secret Place. I only encourage you to follow closely this message chronologically, because I know the impact it will yield in your day to day walk with God.
Firstly, understanding the Mystery of the Secret Place will open your eyes to the ever-present presence of the Holy Spirit around you.
Secondly, to understand the position and the location of the Secret Place is the most imperative knowledge for you, if you are to dwell daily and consistently in the Secret Place.
Having said that, What is the Secret Place? What did the Psalmist mean when he said, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty?”
In only the first verse of Psalms 91, two Hebrew names of God are unveiled to us that can help us to understand what the Secret Place is.
The first name is El Elyon, translated as “God Most High” and the other is El Shaddai translated as “God Almighty.”
Today, let us focus on El Elyon. The Hebrew word “elyon” is an adjective and derives from the Hebrew root ‘lh, meaning to “go up” or “ascend.”
Psalms 89:27 says, “Also I will make him [My] firstborn, The highest [elyon] of the kings of the earth.”
Now from Scriptures, we know that Jesus Christ is the firstborn of the highest kings of the earth. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords (Revelations 17:14).
Colossians 1:18 tells us that, “He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.”
Beloved! When the Pslamist says, he who dwells in the secret place of El Elyon Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty, he is in a nutshell saying that, it is in El Elyon where the Secret Place is. Secret Place simply means Shelter.
So, El Elyon in Psalms 91:1 is a picture of the New Testament “in Christ” position. For instance, 1 Corinthians 1:30 says, “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.” Galatians 3:26 says, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” And Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Friends, to abide in the Secret Place of the Most High is to abide In Christ by faith. There is no other Secret Place that you will find outside Christ. Living in Christ is the highest ascended place in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. So saints, it is living in Christ that means living in the Secret Place. Hallelujah!
I Love You!
Most High Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank You for Your beautiful name of El Elyon. I thank You for my ascended position in Christ, for in Christ we have ascended far above every principalities, powers, dominions, kingdoms in the heavenly places in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
