THE MYSTERY OF THE SECRET PLACE Part 2
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
In the previous devotion, we examined that our theme scripture contains two Hebrew names of God – El Elyon and El Shaddai.
However, in closing we said that the Secret Place as mentioned in Psalm 91:1 is only found in Christ. And that in Christ is the highest ascended place in the heavens, on earth, and under the earth.
Today, I want to dissect the second Hebrew name of God, El Shaddai according to Psalm 91:1.
El Shaddai is translated as our “All-Sufficient Sustainer, Provider, Refuge, and Home.” It is God as “El” who helps, and it is God as “Shaddai” who abundantly blesses with all manner of blessings.
The compound name “El Shaddai” first appearance is in Genesis 17:1, “When Abram was 99 years old and Adonai appeared to him and said to him, ‘I am El Shaddai [God Almighty]. Walk in my presence and be pure-hearted.'”
Beloved, El Shaddai is your ever present help. I want to remind you today that just as we can be surrounded by the “shadow of death,” so we can be surrounded by the “shadow of Shaddai.” Like a powerful eagle brooding over her chicks, so Shaddai covers you with His wings of protection (Psalm 91:4).
For instance, for those of you who are currently living in Uganda particularly Kampala, it very easy to fret and fear because of the endless rampant kidnaps, killings, and night beatings.
But I want to encourage you with these words, that El Shaddai will cover you under the shadow of His wings from the shadow of these rampant deaths. Trust Him wholly with your life and with all that is yours.
Whatever is happening in Uganda is not strange in the world, and it should not take you by surprise. Some people are already beginning to say that the presence of God has departed from Uganda, that’s why all these things happening are happening. No brethren, God is still with Uganda.
Look at the Promises of El Shaddai in Psalms 91:4-7 that covers us who are hidden in El Elyon, “He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth [shall be your] shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, [Nor] of the arrow [that] flies by day, [Nor] of the pestilence [that] walks in darkness, [Nor] of the destruction [that] lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; [But] it shall not come near you.”
Child of God, even in this terrifying times for us as a nation, trust God with your life and with all yours. Do not anticipate danger to befall your children or relatives, but commit them over to El Shaddai.
At any given moment of your day, regardless of the circumstances, you can attune yourself to the reality of the Divine Presence of El Shaddai, who is saying to you “come boldly before the Throne of Grace and live.”
The world knows nothing of this realm and is enslaved by appearances and the delusions of this physical realm, but in Christ we must know better and expect better because we have the God who maintains our lot (Psalms 16:5). Hallelujah!
I Love You!
Almighty Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank You because You are my All sufficient Sustainer, Provider, Refuge, and my Home. I rebuke fear and all its features from my heart in the name of Jesus Christ. I refuse to fret and fear but I choose to trust Father. I know that even though a thousand may fall on my side and ten thousand on my right hand, no danger shall come near me. I shall only hear of them from afar but I and my family shall be far from them in the name of Jesus Christ.
